It matters a lot when you go from 172/173 cm to 175 , the two cm makes night and day differnce.
if tom cruise is 175 instead of 171/172 cm , most people wouldn't mock him or focus much on his height because he is average after all.

A lot of people take 176 cm as the point of comparison , I don't know why . Maybe because It's the average height in Spain or the average height for young.
